I don’t know if all the kids who Mary Lou Drummy hands trophies to each event know they’re shaking hands with a living legend, but I sure hope they do. When I was unpacking my gear early last Sunday morning, I noticed her making her way toward the contest site and the visual just warmed my heart and made my day. Surf contests aren’t for everybody, of course, but for anyone who has ever paddled out in a @surfwsa jersey over the years, I hope you’ve taken a moment during that time to thank Mary Lou. None of it would have ever happened without her.
